The Grand Massif is an awesome ski area rising to 2580m at the top of the Grand Platieres cable car. From there with the sun shining, the view of Mont Blanc is quite spectacluar and seems astonishingly close. These views from the 'roof of the Alps' are truly worth experiencing!
- Rapid access from Morillon to the Grand Massif resorts of Flaine, Samoens, Les Carroz and Sixt, thanks to the many high speed cable cars, modern and high performance 4, 6 and even 8 place chair lifts! In total there are 75 ski lifts, 68 blue runs, 49 red runs, 12 black runs and extensive off piste for the more adventurous.
- 265 km's of ski slopes where you can ski from resort to resort without even taking off your skis! A pleasant change from having to take shuttles or walking from one place to another. The resort also has 90 km's of prepared cross-country skiing for those of you who don't just want to go straight down the pistes!
- A whole range of ski runs for skiers of all abilities from beginners through to experts, adults and children. Whether you choose to ski the 'Marvel', a fabulous 5km long beginners slope, the 'Combe de Gers', a steep black bowl undisputed for great skiing and powder snow with a difference in altitude of 800m on north facing slopes or the fantastic and the easy 14km, longest blue run in Europe ‘La Cascade’ piste, which runs from the top of Les Grandes Platières 2580m in Flaine down to the village of Sixt 700m - there is truly something for everyone.
- Superb snowsure area, the Grand Massif holds the record as one of the top areas in the French Alps due to the closeness of the magical Mont Blanc and its many north facing slopes. Thanks to the latest in artificial snow making equipment (128 snow canons) this guarantees that the resorts remains open from December through to Easter.
- Many authentic, mountain restaurants are to be found on the slopes with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you just want to take a break or sample one of the many Savoyard specialities, either outside on the terrace or inside by the fire, you will be pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable prices and exceptional service.
