White Water Rafting and Watersports

Visitors to the mountains are not always aware of the quality and beauty of the Alpine rivers, they are often hidden in deep gorges or seen from above, seemingly inaccessible on road or rail journeys. There is as much fun and thrills to be had on the rivers as in the mountains that surround them. There are water-based activities in the Haute-Savoie to suit all abilities, from family frolics to the needs of the true adrenaline junkie. Rafting, hydrospeed, canoraft, airboat, kayak, canoe and canyoning are the various methods of descent each offering something unique to the participant.

The season starts in May with rafting companies offering daily excursions through to the end of September and the main rivers of the region are Le Giffre, La Drance, L’Isère, Le Fier, Le Chéran, L’Arve and La Dora Baltéa in Italy! Le Giffre flows through Morillon and is home to two well recognised rafting companies:
