Parapenting

The neighbouring village of Mieussy is the birth place of parapenting, so the area is exceptional for flying. The sheltered nature of the valley means that you won't spend your whole holiday waiting for a weather window to jump.

The sport enables you to appreciate the region from the sky in perfect security and the numerous parapenting schools will help you to learn the techniques of free flying, progressing safely from step to step with professional instructors. Or, if you don't want to learn to do it yourself, then why not just come and experience, as we did last summer, a tandem flight where you go down in a two-seater flight with an experienced instructor. It is a great way to see the mountains, is incredibly relaxing, and can be done at any time of the year - you can even keep your skis on in winter!

If you are already qualified and have your own equipment, our region is one of the Meccas of parapenting in France. There are many official take-off and landing sites run by the local municipalities with help from the FFVL (Féderation Française de Vol Libre) from where you can take full advantage of the thermals, riding round the peaks of the Grand Massif. We can organise a tandem flight with one of the local instructors to introduce you to the unique topography and flying conditions of the area, enabling you to fly to the best of your ability.
